Obituary for Howard Nisle
Howard Albert Nisle, age 89, of Apple Valley and formerly of Brainerd, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017. Howard was born on July 24, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Albert & Astrid (Olson) Nisle.
Howard graduated from the University of Montana and was a longtime Grizzly fan. He started his career in Richland, WA at GE but soon moved to Brainerd, MN as he loved the area with all of the lakes. He worked many years at Security Loan & Thrift and then owned Economy Trailer Sales. After that he was an insurance agent at Bremer bank
Howard loved fishing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed catching and eating walleye. He loved traveling and being with nature. He had a special memory of going to Lake Kabetogama with the family for a week every summer. The grandchildren loved spending a week in the summer at their grandparents house.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sylvia; children: Norma (Norm) Theien of
Hot Springs Village, AR, Carla (Chuck) Berkler of Lytton, IA, Debra Cumber of
Eagan and Richard (Denise) of Mankato; grandchildren: Ashley, Andy, Meghan,
Samantha, Thomas & Klarissa; Great Grandchildren: Lillian, Arabella, Skye & Liliana, Sisters Dorothy & Jinny and sister in-law Linda Allen & brother-in-law Byron Nelson.
Preceding Howard in death are his parents; first wife, Doris; infant daughter, Lori Ann and sister Betty.
Funeral service for Howard will be on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11AM at Hope Church in Apple Valley (7477 145th St. West, Apple Valley, MN 55124). Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00 am, Monday at the church in Apple Valley. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
